Redtronic business in focus

At Redtronic, we are continuing to do all we can to support our customers, to meet their needs and expectations during the Covid 19 pandemic. We remain fully operational and there is no change to our usual contact points. Like most, we are happy to see the back of 2020, fortunately vaccines are rolling out throughout the UK now and there is light at the end of the tunnel. We have lots of exciting new innovative product launches coming up, and we hope to show you them at the Recovery Tow Show this year.

What the plans and aims were for the business ahead of the trading period in 2020 being hit by the pandemic?

Redtronic have been supplying visual and audio warning signals to the emergency and safety services for over 37 years. Over the last decade, Redtronic have focused on International growth and now have distributors and resellers in over 42 countries worldwide.

Further to Redtronic’s immense success in supplying warning lights to one of the largest recovery companies in the UK, our plans and aims were to continue to grow our customer base, maintain our customer service levels, lead the way through innovative products which exceed our customers’ needs and expectations within a fast-moving and ever-changing industry and build on relationships with our customers.

Covid 19 made an impact on the industry and our plans for 2020 but we still managed to grow our business, develop and retain contracts which is fantastic news. This we hope has been reflected by the service we offer and the support we have provided to our customers, suppliers and employees.

What changes were needed and how the business had to adapt to cope with the situation of the COVID-19 outbreak so early in the year?

As soon as we heard that the UK would be heading into an imminent lockdown, our first priority was to ensure the safety of our employees. We then looked at what systems and processes we could implement to continue manufacturing and servicing the needs of our customers. We followed government guidelines to ensure our business was Covid secure and followed all of the necessary steps including secure home-work which has proved successful and we have not had a disruption to our service. In contrast, we have seen growth in many areas of the business as 88% of our raw materials are sourced from UK suppliers so our reliance on an overseas supply chain is extremely low which ultimately benefits our customers with low lead-times.

The quality and facilities team reviewed and updated our risk assessments to manage the risk of Covid 19 to our business. We implemented social distancing measures throughout the factory and offices by installing sanitising stations as well as providing face coverings for skeleton staff who remained in the office and factory during the pandemic. The implementation of all these changes were put into place quickly, which is a credit to the team involved and this ultimately underpins our company values.

At Redtronic, we pride ourselves on reacting to our customers request for bespoke products, Covid 19 was definitely a bespoke situation and as a business we overcame and adapted to ensure we were still here to service our customers. Our company value is to “save lives through innovative & customised automotive warning solutions … and do it with style”, that is why it was crucial that we implemented a plan to work at full potential to keep our products reaching those who need them more than ever before, everyone at Redtronic is proud to work for a business that is helping to keep the UK safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

How the business is looking to move forward now in 2021 within the recognised new normal?

The pandemic gave Redtronic the opportunity to go ‘back to basics’ and really consider what we could do to improve and grow our business. We have lots of exciting new product launches coming throughout the year so watch this space and keep an eye out on our social channels. We are also making a huge effort to recruit highly experienced team members as well as implementing our marketing strategy to drive our digital presence which includes the continuous development of our new e-commerce website – www.redtronic.co.uk.

The website has been given a complete overhaul to its aesthetics, navigation and functionality - introducing 360° CAD renders of products making it significantly easier for customers to find what they are looking for. We have integrated a new login portal that allows our customers to customise, pay for orders and even configure bespoke products such as lightbars to their needs. To maintain our commitment to exceptional customer service even through a digital platform, the new website includes an online live-chat feature which puts customers in direct contact to a Redtronic technical sales representative to assist where possible during our opening hours.

As always, we will continue to provide an exceptional service to our customers. From everyone at Redtronic we are hope all of our customers and their families are staying safe during the pandemic.
